I have been warning believers about a seriously dangerous false cultic teaching that is within the body of Christ and is being taught by some of the most well-known "Christian leaders" in our nation today.
Moral Government Theology believes that God not only has the capacity to lie but that He chooses to do so.
Really? What will they do with these Scriptures?
Numbers 23:19 ESV God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Titus 1:2 ESV in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began
MGT would say that God speaks forth things that He never intends to do because He constantly changes His mind. MGT does not believe in the immutability of God or that He is unchanging.
Hebrews 6:17-18 ESV So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, (18) so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
MGT does not believe that God has control over the events on the earth and that He does not know what is in the future nor does He know His own future actions. According to MGT the decisions of God are limited to the choices of mankind. Once mankind makes their choices then and only then can God decide what to do.
