THREE DECEPTIONS THAT THE DEMONIC, THE LOST WORLD, AND THE RELIGIOUS SYSTEM TELL ABOUT THE GOSPEL:

There are three deceptions the enemy, the world, and religion uses in the lives of people concerning the Gospel message.

The FIRST DECEPTION is having a Gospel that displays a form of godliness yet denies its power and life. The only victory is in the sky, by-in-by, when I fly away one day. This robs people of the hope and joy of all that God the Father has in store for us on this side of eternity.

The SECOND DECEPTION is having a Gospel which is a misleading gospel or an inadequate truth, therefore, it cannot set people free. It only satisfies the need to be religious.

This gospel only talks about having our sins forgiven but does not reveal the fact that God has defeated our old sin nature and given us a new nature and an incorruptible seed. We have the nature of Christ within us.

The THIRD DECEPTION is having a Gospel that brings a counterfeit salvation, which is "a costless way." It is a gospel message lacking self-denial and is a message filled with self-satisfaction. Freedom abused is bondage.

To be truly saved is free and an act of faith and grace. However, to walk daily with the Father costs us our lives. We are to die daily. It is not a costless salvation.

HOW TO GUARD YOURSELF FROM DECEPTION: (Part 1)

DECEPTION:

First I want to address "the blame game." We as humans LOVE to blame others for were we are emotionally, mentality, financially, relationally, and yes spiritually. Oh, don't get me wrong, I know this is not new, it started with Adam and has been rolling hard for nearly 7,000 years. We seem to feel justified in our actions or lack of them if we can place the responsibility and blame on the shoulders of someone else, like parents, spouse, children, church, Pastor, job, death, Washington DC politics, or God.

But, there is one truth we need to hold and hold solid. We will all stand before God one day naked, alone and without excuses.

Christians: We can't blame others if we are deceived by bad teaching. We as believers all have the same BIBLE and the same indwelling of the person of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Therefore, we have all we need to get instruction, correction and truth. If we are deceived there are 2 truths involved. I know, that is an oxymoron. (1) If I am deceived I had a heart prone to it through laziness, neglect or other traits that allowed others to replace the WORD and HOLY SPIRIT in me. (2). If I am deceived there is close to a 100% chance I don't know it, otherwise I would come out of it.

The "see to it" in Col.2:8 places the responsibility of not being captured on me.

(Colossians 2:8 ESV) See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
