THE MENTORING PROCESS
2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV) and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
Everything you do now, had a first time.
I once saw a turtle on a fencepost and wondered, "Now how did that turtle get on top of that post?" The answer is obvious.
Someone placed him there. |
THE TURTLE ON THE FENCEPOST:
THE MENTORING PROCESS: When we see someone walking a joy-filled victorious Christian life we may assume that they got there alone. But... No man is an island to himself. As I look back at my Christian life I can name many Godly men and women who had a part of pouring Kingdom truths in my life, or placing me on the fencepost. No man is an island to himself
We all need Godly mature Christians that are willing to pour their lives into us. Some believers, who know they are CALLED to the pastorate areto quick to the appointment and ordination stage as a Pastor without the proper process of mentoring. Having a degree in a Bible College is good, however it does not always take the place of a mentoring process of separation and preparation.
The separation and preparation time is a proving time and spiritual accountability. Unfortunately being able to sit in a Bible class and take tests does not offer the needed accountability of testing and proving to see if a person is ready to Shepherd others. Getting Biblical truths in the head and having mental assent is much different than having the truth of God internalized in our heart.
RSIM is committed to raising up qualified spiritual leaders that will boldly and unashamedly stand in righteousness and holiness before both God and man in these last days. The RSIM School of Ministry is just one training processes of life, but the training and accountability never ends with those called to leadership.
