The enemy has put a hatred for weakness in our society among our men and women.
Our men and woman are pushing to become stronger and stronger and seeing any weakness as a crutch to their humanity.
When we hate weakness we become fearful or hardened to allow ourselves to cry
If we hate weakness then we hate mistakes, because only weak people make mistakes.
We are raising a generation of children who hate weakness and who are either striving for perfection to please their parents or society, or are giving up in hopelessness because they feel like weak failures.
HOWEVER, God disciplines and corrects us for rebellion, pride, and self-sufficiency, but never for weakness.
1. Acknowledge weakness and allow the Holy Spirit to help us.
Romans 8:26 ESV Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
2. No matter how smart we think we are, our weakness brings us down to one thing, Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
1 Corinthians 2:2-5 ESV For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. (3) And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, (4) and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, (5) so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
3. Embracing our weaknesses humbles us to be able to show them.
2 Corinthians 11:30 ESV If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
4. In the Kingdom of God, we are made strong through our weaknesses, because God is made strong through us. We learn to be content through our weaknesses
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (10) For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
5. Mighty men and women of God were made warriors out of their weaknesses
Hebrews 11:32-34 ESV And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— (33) who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, (34) quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.
