This is post #12 on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the first 11 studies of the atonement we have looked at the blood bringing about 10 wonderful Biblical life-changing truths.
The #11 truth concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is "THE NEW BIRTH." I hear these labels or identifying statements for believers all the time: "Born again Christian" "Saved Christian" "Real Christian" "Fully saved" I even heard the statement a couple months ago, "He was a Born again Preacher" I asked a guy not to long ago if he was save, ever been born again. He said that he was half-way saved. What is up with all this? Either someone has had a "born again" experience or they have not. I know we live in a society that identifies anything that we can't put in some other religious group as "Christian" but we need not fall in line with the grouping of the world. Someone who is born again is a Christian. Someone who is a Christian is born again. At the risk of leaving a mental picture that you won't be able to erase, I need to share this. A lady is pregnant and finally reached her 9th month and starts going into labor. The doctor says this is going to be a hard delivery. The mother says that she does not want a full delivery but just a half-way event. She has enjoyed carrying the baby and don't want it full delivered or completely born out in the world. I know this sounds insane, however, we have people who have this type of thinking when it comes to being called a Christian. We may find ourselves getting into the mode of what I call "watering down" the status of the lost, or those who are NOT born again. We call them "unsaved," or "not fully a Christian," or "almost a Christian." They are LOST! They are hopeless and without hope outside of Christ! According to the Word of God they are already condemned to judgment and hell. We need to read the verses after the John 3:16 verse which we all memorized in Sunday School class back in the day. (John 3:18 ESV) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (John 3:19 ESV) And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. Only the new birth will change this status of being lost. Over the years I have asked people if they are Christians and I get answers like "I am a church member." If I put a wheel barrel in my garage and pray over it, throw 4 tires in it, and place a gas can in it, it will still be a wheel barrel. It will never be a car. We need the NEW BIRTH and that is brought about through the BLOOD ATONEMENT of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are still looking at the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the first 10 studies we looked at the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ bringing about... 1. ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL: 2. REMISSION OF SINS: 3. LIFE AND PEACE: 4. REDEMPTION: 5. JUSTIFICATION: 6. WE ARE MADE CLOSE: 7. A PURE CONSCIENCE: 8. CLENSING FROM SIN: 9. SANCTIFICATION: The 10th truth concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is "THE NEW COVENANT." Covenant is a great word. It is where we get the word "Testament" for the Old and New Testament. It means "will" as in writing out a will to see who will get our estate after our death. It means a contract or agreement such as taking a loan or buying a car or house. The blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ established a Testament, Covenant, Will, Contract, and Agreement with us. Usually it takes two parties to establish this but we had nothing to bring to the agreement. Like the story of Abraham and the covenant agreement between him and the LORD. Abraham was asleep when the contact was established by blood. The Testament, Contract, Will was unconditional in that man did not deserve it, nor could he add anything to it. (Genesis 15:12-13 ESV) As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him. Then the LORD said to Abram, "Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. (Genesis 15:14-16 ESV) But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions. As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age. And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete." (Genesis 15:17-18 ESV) When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, The Lord wrote a will, a Testament, as owner of all things and with all the riches of heaven. He made us, the believers, the beneficiary of the will. But to enact the will, the writer of the will had to die. So our Lord died to exact the will. Then the enemy came along and opposed the will. Our Lord rose from the dead and sit down at the right hand of God the Father as mediator and judge of the will to ensure that we got all that HE promised in the will. All of this because of the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 9:14 ESV) how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. (Hebrews 9:15 ESV) Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. (Hebrews 9:16-17 ESV) For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. As lawlessness abounds in the world and in the church we will see foundational doctrines of the faith under heavy attack. WHY? Simple actually. The main and sometimes the only thing the enemy wants in our lives is our faith. He does not care if we read our Bible, pray, go to church as long as we do it as a religious activity.
Why does the enemy want our faith? Because it is the only way the Christian can please the Father. The Father is not impresses if we go to church, read our Bibles,, and pray if it is done in the flesh and not in the Spirit with a heart of faith. Hebrews 11:6 ESV And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Romans 8:7-8 ESV For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. (8) Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. When we hear the Word either through preaching, reading the Scriptures, or having a friend share it with you, it does not bear fruit if it is not mixed with faith. Hebrews 4:2 ESV For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. In the first 9 studies we looked at the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ bringing about... 1. ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL; 2. REMISSION OF SINS; 3. LIFE AND PEACE; 4. REDEMPTION; 5. JUSTIFICATION. 6. WE ARE MADE CLOSE; 7. A PURE CONSCIENCE 8. CLENSING FROM SIN The 9th thing concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is "SANCTIFICATION". Sanctification is a multi-facted process. The first is the idea of BEING SET APART UNTO THE LORD. When the Lord called Moses to go into Egypt to set the captives free, the idea was not just "bringing the Jews out". God brings His people out of Egypt so that He can bring them into Canaan. God called us out of the world so that He could bring us into His promises and His Kingdom. We are "set apart FROM the world and set apart FOR the Lord. John 18:36 ESV Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world." 1 John 2:15-17 ESV Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. (17) And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. 1 Corinthians 6:11 ESV And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. We are vessels of honor in HIS hands. We are set apart to bring HIM glory. The second idea of sanctification is that of being HOLY. In the spiritual we are as holy and righteous as the Lord Jesus Christ because we are robed in HIS righteousness. However we are to walk out that righteousness in our daily practical lives. This is the process of sanctification. In other words, we are holy and we are being made holy. 1 Thessalonians 4:4 ESV (4) that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 1 Timothy 4:4-5 ESV For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, (5) for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. 1 Peter 1:14-16 ESV As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, (15) but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, (16) since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." I have posted 8 studies on the atonement and how it is under attack. It may help to go back and read the first 8. The doctrine of the blood atonement is under great attack by both the lost world and also the liberal church. It is hard to believe that there are Pastors preaching that the cross was not necessary and that Jesus died needlessly. However, this heresy is becoming more and more popular among the false teachers and pastors that are influencing believers everywhere.
In the first 8 studies we looked at the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ bringing about... 1. ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL; 2. REMISSION OF SINS; 3. LIFE AND PEACE; 4. REDEMPTION; 5. JUSTIFICATION. 6. WE ARE MADE CLOSE; 7. A PURE CONSCIENCE The 8th thing concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is "CLEANSING FROM SIN". We sing the song "What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus." Yet, many believers continue to live in sin, live in the gult of sin, be held in bondage to their sin, or try to earn cleansing of sin by some religious act. I can't even imagine a cross-less Christ. The whole purpose of Him coming in the flesh of man was to die so that He could pay the ransom and redeem us. If we continue in sin there is no more sacrifice that can be given. We need to apply the poured out blood of our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins to be cleansed. 1 John 1:7 ESV But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, (19) but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. Hebrews 9:22 ESV Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. THE "OVERCOMING" POWER WITHIN US: This is post #13 on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have already looked at the blood bringing about 11 wonderful Biblical life-changing truths. If you not done so it would be a great advantage to you if went back over the first 12 posts of this study.
The 12th truth concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is the believers "OVERCOMING POWER."
I am amazed how so many believers who have been saved for years and years continue to be overcome by the enemy, the world, and their flesh. Is the cross enough for victory? Apparently it must not be enough to live a victorious daily life according to many believers and many Christian authors. Our Christian bookstores are filled with self-help books on overcoming depression, fear, rejection, etc. etc. etc. What ever happened to the BLOOD of the LAMB? The cross is enough. We can overcome by the blood of the Lamb of God. One of the fruits or characteristics of an immature Christian is that of being overcome. One of the fruits or characteristics of a "young adult Christian" status is that they know how stand on God's promises and in His power to overcome the evil one. 1 John 5:4-5 ESV For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (5) Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 4:4 ESV Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 2:13-14 ESV I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you know the Father. (14) I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one. John 16:33 ESV I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." This is the last study in this series on the blood atonement. It is a doctrine under great attack by the world and by false teaching within the church.
We have already looked at the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ bringing about... 1. ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL; 2. REMISSION OF SINS; 3. LIFE AND PEACE; 4. REDEMPTION; 5. JUSTIFICATION. 6. WE ARE MADE CLOSE; The seventh thing concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is "A PURE CONSCIENCE" by the blood. In the Old Testament the priests continually day after day received the sin offerings from the people which were sacrifices that their sins would be covered. Then once a year on the Day of Atonement the High Priest would go behind the veil and bring the blood sacrifice for the entire nation. However, it says that they did not have a pure conscience even though their sins were covered by the blood of the sacrifice. Hebrews 9:14 ESV how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Even now in the age which we live, I can't believe the number of believers that I have counseled that still carry guilt from their past. They don't seem to be able to come to a pure conscience. They have asked forgivness but continue in a mental and emotional state of guilt and condemnation. Our sins were nailed to the cross of our Lord and covered with the blood. Our Lord Jesus Christ offered His blood so that we could have forgiveness of sins. Our sins were not just covered like in the Old Testament sacrifices but our sins were removed because of the work of our Lord on the cross. Hebrews 10:21-22 ESV and since we have a great priest over the house of God, (22) let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 1 Timothy 1:5 ESV The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 2 Timothy 1:3 ESV I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 1 Peter 3:16 ESV having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. Live with NO REGRETS and NO CONDEMNATION. We have already looked at the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ bringing about... 1. ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL; 2. REMISSION OF SINS; 3. LIFE AND PEACE; 4. REDEMPTION; 5. JUSTIFICATION. The sixth thing concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is "WE ARE MADE CLOSE" by the blood. Hebrews 10:22 ESV let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. I hear people all the time saying they want to be closer to the Lord or to God the Father. "Draw me closer Lord" seems to be the cry of the heart of passionate believers. However, many sing about it without exercising the commands of it. James 4:8 ESV Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. It is recognizing the work of the cross and the application of our Lord's blood atonement that draws me close to Him. I can only be as close as my sins and flesh are covered by the blood. No flesh will see or touch His glory. The Blood Atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ is under attack. There is a growing group among the church proclaiming that Christ went to the Cross in vain and that God would not have demanded a blood sacrifice. They would say that we are saved from our Lord's perfect moral life and not from His death, burial and resurrection.
The first 5 studies are dated Dec. 2019 under the category of "ATONEMENT" if you would like to read them. This is my sixth post on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the first 5 studies we looked at the blood bringing about... 1st the ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL; 2nd the ATONEMENT FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS; 3rd ATONEMENT FOR LIFE AND PEACE; 4th ATONEMENT FOR REDEMPTION. The 5th thing concerning the blood of Jesus is JUSTIFICATION. Romans 5:1 ESV Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price so that we could stand guiltless and holy before our Father. Hebrews 4:16 ESV Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Our Lord Jesus Christ, through His atoning blood, took my sin, my condemnation, my punishment, and my guilt upon Himself. In doing so He placed His robe of righteousness on me. 2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Justification is "just as though I had not sinned." He sat in my place of sin and death to pay for my sins so that I could sit in His place of righteousness and life with the Father in heavenly places. This is my fifth post on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have already looked at the false "JESUS DIED SPIRITUALLY DOCTRINE" (JDS). I strongly recommend that you google search this doctrine to read more about it and a list of modern day Pastors and TV Evangelists who embrace this will appear. Brace yourself with this revelation. In a lot of attacks on the blood atonement it is not always what the preacher/teacher says each week, but what is absent from his teaching each week. The work and importance of the cross will be a message absent from their teaching. The next doctrine that attacks the blood atonement is called MORAL GOVERNMENT THEOLOGY, or MGT. Let me give you a few teachings on this false doctrine and again I recommend that you google search MGT and see the large list of modern day TV evangelists, Pastors and Teachers embracing this false doctrine. Then look on your book shelf and see how many books you have from them. Remember that the Word of God says that Satan comes as a shining light and a lamb to deceive many. These doctrines (JDS and MGT) are subtle yet deadly. One of the most disturbing doctrines of MGT is that it teaches that the atonement of mankind does not need the work of the cross. In other words, according to MGT, our Lord Jesus Christ died needlessly and in vain on that cruel cross. They would say that the perfect life of Christ was enough for us to be redeemed and all we need to do is to model that life. That teach that God would never use wrath to get rid of sin or the blood and death of Christ to punish sin. MGT would say that the love of God and the willingness of God to forgive are greater than His desire to punish sin. This is the motivation for the teaching that states that "God's love is greater than God justice." Therefore, MGT teaches that our Lord Jesus Christ did not need to go to the cross to die and that the cross is not a victory but a loss. MGT teaches that for someone to believe that our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay our ransom is a deception form the devil. MGT does not believe that Jesus paid our sin debt. They say that for a believer to accept the blood atonement ransom teaching and that God allowed Christ to be killed on a cross makes God vindictive and bloodthirsty. Again, this is not an isolated teaching by a few people. This is a major problem within the body of Christ among major weel-known people who are deceiving millions. One of the dangers within the body of Christ in the day which we live is an abundance of false doctrines. The problem lies in the fact that they are “dressed up” in a way that they are not recognized by the average Christian. MGT is one such doctrine. Make yourself aware of the plans and schemes of the enemy This is my fourth post on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. We stated in earler posts how the doctrine of the blood atonement is under attack. It is becoming less and less of what Christ did for us on the cross and more of what we can do for ourselves. Thus, the great increase of self-help books available for Christians. Also we here more about our salvation and victory being tied to the resurrection of Christ and not about the cross.
There is a false doctrine being taught by some of the largest churches and most well-known TV personalities that is a direct attack against the cross and the blood atonement. It is called the JDS or Jesus died spiritually doctrine. It would say that the cross was a failure because when Jesus died physically on that cross, He also died spiritually and ceased being God. They would say that Jesus went to hell as a lost man, and was chained and tortured. They would say that Jesus had to be BORN AGAIN the same way we as lost men and women needed to be born again. They would also say that our salvation happened when Christ raised from the dead because that was His salvation. He could not redeem us until He was redeemed. They teach that the only victory from Christ in those three days would be the resurrection and that we get our salvation from His resurrection. This doctrine is false and undermines the Deity of Christ and the blood atonement. God is not dead, we all know the song. However, God has never died! We have already looked at the ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL and the REMISSION OF SINS, which is brought to us through the blood of Jesus Christ. We will now look at LIFE AND PEACE. The atonement of our Lord is life and brings life. There can be no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. Romans 5:1 ESV Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. People are always looking for life, a greater quality of life, and peace. This is even true among those who are Christians who suppose to know life and peace in Christ Jesus. We have a promise that if we truly want life and peace we can find it in the blood of our Lord. It must be applied and acknowledged not by just theological mental assent but by internalizing the truth. When we internalize this truth we will know that we have cleansing and resurrection power in us by the work of the cross. As believers we do not have a past because it was nailed to the cross and covered by the blood. To have God's life (ZOE) we must first die to our own life. LIFE & PEACE SCRIPTURES: Proverbs 3:1-2 ESV My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, (2) for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Romans 8:6 ESV For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. This is my third post on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have already said that His blood brings about the ATONEMENT for our soul. Today I make the argument that there is no remission (freedom, pardon, deliverance, and liberty) of sins without the shed blood of our Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ESV (23) For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, (24) and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." (25) In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." (26) For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. Our Christian bookstores are filled with "self-help" books trying to fix the old Adamic nature. Somehow the church has gotten the idea that we can have our sins "dealt with" without the shed blood of our Lord and we just need to be a more moral people. God did not send our Lord to repair old Adam, but to replace him. God did not send our Lord to make man moral but to make man righteous. We as the body of Christ have somehow adopted a teaching that our sins are pardoned, forgiven, and delivered by an activity in which we control by the way we think, feel, or choose. We have remission of our sins only through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Any thought that we have anything to bring to the table for our salvation is birthed out of the doctrine of "humanism" and robs from the grace of God. It is ALL ABOUT HIM, and not about us. We are free from sin, (no longer a slave to sin) because of the work of the cross in the shedding of the blood of the Lamb of God. The church body has been given an ordinance that pictures the work of the cross. We mentally and emotionally acknowledge the work of the cross and salvation by grace by taking the Lord's Supper (Communion). Matthew 26:26-30 ESV Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body." (27) And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, (28) for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (29) I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom." (30) And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. I thank God for the teaching of the blood atonement throughout the Scriptures. We know from the Word that life is in the blood. I do not have forgiveness of sins just because I asked Jesus into my life. I have forgiveness because of the cleansing power of the blood of the perfect lamb of God.
Leviticus 17:11 ESV For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Deuteronomy 12:23 ESV Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh. Hebrews 9:22 ESV Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. In Rom.5:11 the word reconciliation is also the word atonement in the Greek. Romans 5:10-11 ESV For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. (11) More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Over the next few studies I will be sharing some thoughts concerning the blood and it's redeeming factors. The first truth is that it is the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings about an ATONEMENT FOR MY SOUL. Atonement: at-one-ment. The word "atonement" means "To purge, cleanse, annul, exchange, cancel, appease, and forgive. Why am I teaching this. I am teaching this because there are false doctrines in the body of Christ attacking the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. One such doctrine teaches that Jesus did not need to go to the cross to die, and that He died for nothing. It teaches that we are saved from His perfect life and that God would never demand a blood sacrifice for sin. Remember, I said that this is being taught each Sunday in pulpits across our land in Protestant churches. It is apparent in these days in which we live that the church (believers), is under attack. However, not all of the attacks are coming from Washington where legalizing immorality seems to be the norm. We all would agree however, there is an attack against Christianity from the amoral politicians in Washington. but everything can't be blamed there . Not all of the attacks are coming from our media where an amoral agenda is being blasted into our living rooms via of TVs, computers, smart phones and other forms of social media. We all would agree there is an attack against Christian morals and Biblical standards from our current cultural and social lifestyles.
One of the greatest attacks is right within the walls and halls of the institutional church. The doctrines of the faith outlined within Scriptures are being replaced with a watered down version of truth that has a form of godliness but denies any power. There are many doctrines of the Christian faith under attack. These are not just under attack outside the church among lost people but are under attack within the church among those who call themselves believers, Pastors, Evangelists, Apostles, and Prophets. The two key doctrines under attack are the DEITY of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and the BLOOD ATONEMENT of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. People are not afraid of a baby in the manger, nor are they afraid of a radical hanging on a cross between two thieves. That's one reason our churches are full on Christmas and Easter. Many "religious" groups say that Jesus is the Son of God. But the meaning behind their statement is not the same as that which we find in the Word of God. Some would say that Mary had relations with Adam, the first man and then conceived Jesus. Some say He was just a good man and great teacher but certainly not God. JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God and JESUS CHRIST is God. He is the Creator of the Universe. He is the great "I AM". He is deity. The second doctrine under great attack is the BLOOD ATONEMENT. I will be speaking on the blood atonement over the next few days. So stay tuned.
We are coming to an end in this study on the blood atonement. In this post we will look at the fact that the blood atonement brings about TRUE SALVATION. There is a false message, a false hope, a false salvation being preached from churches across the land and in every nation. Many Churches are preaching a "bloodless salvation" meaning Jesus did not need to go to the cross and die for us to be saved because loves us all and will allow all of us to come to heaven on the basis of His love and not on the basis of faith in the work of the cross. Or the Churches are preaching a "Godless" salvation meaning they say it is not important to believe that Christ is God.
We started this study on the blood atone because of the TWO major DOCTRINES that are being attacked in these last days. FIRST: The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ will be attacked. It is the idea that we can have salvation without having to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, has always been God, and will for eternity be God. There are a multitude of religions that don't mind speaking about Jesus and calling Him a Prophet. Religions such as the Mormons, the Jehovah Witnesses, and even the Muslims regard Jesus in favor as a Prophet. The Mormons say that Jesus is the "son" of God, however we say that He is the SON of God. This sounds so good at surface, but they believe that Jesus is the son of God the same way the Tommy and David are my sons. They say that Adam (who they say is god) came down and had relations with Mary and produced a son called Jesus. They don't tell you this when they are standing at your doorway. They just say they believe that Jesus is the son of God. However, if you want to stop them in their tracks just say that Jesus is not only the SON of God but that He is GOD and their is no other. People don't mind that a baby named Jesus was born meek and mild. They don't mind a helpless cute baby in a manger which we see celebrated in the month of December in a season called Christmas. People flock out by the multitude to see and hear the story of baby Jesus retold and acted out by children of the church. People don't mind that a man named Jesus lived two thousand years ago and died on a cruel cross. They flock to the churches on Easter Sunday to hear the story one more time or to hear the latest musical performed by the church choir. They don't even mind referring to Him as a great Prophet. The Muslims have great regard towards Jesus as one of their many Prophets. So do the Jehovah Witnesses. However, how can someone who claimed to be God also be known as a great Prophet? Either Jesus was who He says He was or He was a liar. Either He was, is and will always be God or He is a false Prophet. As soon as you place the label "God-head" on the Lord Jesus Christ and saying that He is the creator of the world and that He is Deity and was the only sacrifice for the sins of man then the dividing lines start. The next DOCTRINE to be attacked is the BLOOD ATONEMENT of our Lord Jesus Christ and this is why I spent these last 15 studies covering this topic. For all of the billions of people who believe in an "after-life" only a small percentage accepts the fact that Jesus Christ is not "a way" but "THE WAY" to eternal life. The blood of our Lord screams redemption and cleansing of sin. But this is under attack mainly through HUMANISM within the body of Christ. This would lead us to believe that we could do something or become something on our own without the forgiving blood atonement of our Lord. The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is the only way that we experience the complete work of God's SALVATION. EXPERIENCING AND ENJOYING "BODY-LIFE" This is post #14 on the blood atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have already looked at the blood bringing about 12 wonderful Biblical life-changing truths. If you not done so it would be a great advantage to you if went back over the first 13 posts of this study.
The 13th truth concerning the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is the believers right to "BODY MEMBERSHIP" or "BODY-LIFE". In the Old Testament when a covenant was made it was made through the blood of a turtledove, lamb, or some other accepted animal.
The covenant was sealed through the shedding of blood. The first Covenant Passover was given while the people of God was in bondage in Egypt by the shedding of blood and having that blood applied to the doorposts. This is called the Feast of Passover in the Old and New Testament. By the way, the Feast of Passover IS NOT Easter. Easter is not of God and should not be confused with PASSOVER, which points to and recognizes the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. All who went under the covering of the blood entered into something called body membership. All of a sudden all differences between them seemed small compared to the greater need of deliverance from the bondage of Egypt. Because of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ we have been THRUST into membership together in His body. We must contend, strive, fight for fellowship because we, the true believers, are all brothers and sisters in the Lord. Our DNA is all the same as we have all been adopted into the same family and have the same Daddy/Father. We have our differences and contend with one another, but what if we all looked at the greater need. What if we all looked at the need for final deliverance from Egypt (the world) as one people, one voice, one man, with Christ the Head. |
