There are those spiritual leaders who profess themselves religious and call themselves teachers of truth, who will sneak or creep into church buildings or house churches. These so-called leaders will captivate worldly believers by their offers of an accommodating Christianity filled with promises of freedom and liberty to fulfill the appetites of the flesh. These are those who, though they are ever learning, are never able to arrive at the of knowledge of truth. They are careless hearers, they are inattentive readers, they are uninterested inquirers of truth.
2 Timothy 3:5-7 ESV having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (6) For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, (7) always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.
Romans 16:17-18 ESV I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. (18) For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
